MOU’s
- Department of EFL, CET, SRMIST signed a MOU with Yunnan Minzu University, Kunming, China for the Student Exchange Program on 29th March 2019.
Department of EFL, CET, through the Directorate of International Relations, SRMIST signed a MOU with Teesside University of Middlesbrough, UK for the Global Immersion Program on 12th May 2022.
MoU with Foxconn Hon Hai
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under Institute and Industry connect plays a significant role in the teaching and training industry, facilitating collaboration and fostering professional development among employees. Under this framework, educational institutions and industries enter into a formal agreement to share resources, expertise, and knowledge. The Department of English and Foreign Languages signed a MoU with M/s Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development Private Limited on 20 April 2023. This educational MoU offers Foxconn employees a 104 hours of training programme on Oral communication skills and Presentation skills. Two of our faculty members Dr. B. Monika Nair (EFL) and Dr. Prem Kumar (MBA) have been selected after rigorous interview process for offering the training. Ultimately, this MoU with Foxconn Hon Hai serves as a foundation for building strong, mutually beneficial relationships that contribute to the overall growth and success of the department and the university as a whole.
MoU with ETS
The Department of English and Foreign Languages, an academic entity dedicated to promoting the learning and teaching of the English language, recognizes the significance of proficiency in English for students aspiring to pursue higher education or employment opportunities in English-speaking countries. As part of its commitment to fostering academic excellence, the Department has collaborated with internationally renowned testing organization, Educational Testing Service (ETS), to offer comprehensive training for students intending to take US competitive exams like TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and GRE (Graduate Record Examination). ETS will design and deliver comprehensive training sessions for the students. The sessions will cover all aspects of the TOEFL and GRE tests, including content review, practice tests, and individualized feedback. The collaboration aims to provide these services at concession fees to make them more affordable and accessible to a wider range of students.
